Used Commercial Gym Equipment

Good Fitness sells used commercial strength and cardio equipment to both commercial and residential customers. When you are shopping for gym equipment you may be asking yourself the question of whether or not used gym equipment is right for you and your gym. The answer is not always so simple. With new equipment you get the absolute latest model from the major manufacturers but this may come with several drawbacks. First and perhaps most importantly is the immediate loss of 50 percent of its value the moment it's placed on your gym floor. In that first minute the equipment is now designated as used and how much or how little it's used is of little relevance. Ironically once used commercial gym equipment suffers this initial loss of value, it's continued residual value remains relatively stable for most of the rest of it's usefull life. This is especially true when it comes to commercial strength equipment and to a lesser degree with cardio. For example if you were to have us remanufacture a piece of strength equipment for you, were you to keep it looking like new you would likely receive 80-90 percent of your cost were you to attempt to sell it on the used market. The second issue is whether newer is always better. There's a saying that goes "they don't make them like they used to". It's quite possible that this statement applies to gym equipment. Consider why it is that there is still a demand for 20 year old Icarian, Flex, or Bodymaster strength pieces or older style Lifecycles, 9500 Next Generation Treadmills, and 9500 Ellipticals. If you come to the Good Fitness warehouse and take a look at the company gym inside our facility you will see that the majority of the strength pieces in it are used 20 year old Icarian pieces. This is what we work out on. Fancy shrouds and curved frames do not necessarily mean improved biomechanics and feel. Good Fitness can bring these classic pieces back to their original condition through our remanufacturing process though often they are in quite good cosmetic shape and excellent working order as-is. Given this continued demand there is the distinct possibility that including and mixing some of these classic pieces into your fitness lineup may actually help to attract and retain customers who miss the equipment they've used over the years. We can often custom remanufacture these units to match the color scheme of your newer units. For example we can update a Life Fitness 9500hr Elliptical with the new silver color used by Life Fitness for later models.
